After entering the items and the payments, a receipt can be printed. You will probably want to print a receipt for the customer if you are operating in point-of-sale (POS) mode. It’s a good idea to print a receipt for your own records even if you are not using a POS system because you can attach the computer receipt to the handwritten one. At the bottom of the screen you will be asked what kind of receipt you want.
Full-page 40-Column Half-page receipt, Label, edit Message, None or Edit sale.
None*} If you do not want to print a receipt, choose None. You will be able to print one out at a later time, if it becomes necessary.
40-Column*} The 40-Column receipt is designed to print on a plain (no pre-printed company logo) continuous roll of receipt paper with no perforations and no pin-feed holes on the side. This type of receipt can be one, two or three parts, and usually is printed with a specialty small-footprint point of sale dot matrix printer. However, you may be able to feed this type of receipt paper into a regular dot-matrix printer. You can change how this receipt prints from the Store Information Defaults section of the program (See page ).
Half-Page Receipt*} The half-page receipt is designed to print on a continuous, pin-fed paper 8½ʺ wide of various heights. See Stationary Requirements to see the sizes of paper supported by the half-page receipt, page . This type of receipt can be one, two or three parts, and usually is printed with a regular dot matrix printer. However, this receipt is very flexible and you can change its layout considerably. For example, you can change the height as well as the width of the receipt. You can also change it to print on plain paper or on receipts with your business name and logo pre-printed, and more. To customize it, see the Store Information Defaults section of the program (page ).
You can also use the half-page receipt with a laser printer by changing the dimensions in the Store Information Defaults to specify an 11ʺ page length.
Full-Page Receipt*} The full-page receipt is designed to print on NEBS form 9045. This form is pre-printed with your business name and invoice boxes and shading. Because the form is pre-printed, you cannot modify the layout of this receipt.
Label*} The Label option allows you to print a shipping label for the customer in case you are mailing the merchandise. You could also print a mailing label after typing a sale so you are ready to send the customer a post-sale thank-you letter.
Edit Message*} The program can print a message at the end of each receipt. You type the basic message from Store Information Defaults section of the program, but you can add to or change the basic message on a sale-by-sale basis by choosing this option before printing a receipt. This is useful for noting specific agreements you’ve made with your customer.
Edit Sale*} Choose Edit Sale if you need to go back and add, delete or change the sale items or payment.
The sale record is now complete. Return to step 2 to enter another sale, or press <Esc> to return to the Sales Menu.
