Configure Podium Payments Processing integration with Jewelry Shopkeeper
Before you get started, make sure you can login to the Podium Website with your username & password here: https://auth.podium.com
You will also need a number of ID numbers and credentials for your account that Podium would provide to you.
Choose Maintenance Menu then Preferences then Payment Options (1)
Enter (2) Credit Card Authorization Type: PODIUM
Select (3) More Account Settings:
Step 2: Type in the your Unique ID credentials provided by Podium for your Podium account.
Now you need to authorize Podium to allow Shopkeeper to talk to their card services.
Selecting the Credentials Credit Card Handshake Icon will pop up the Podium login screen.
Type your username & password: This is Podium's actual web page, not a Shopkeeper screen so the appearance may vary, and it might require 2-Factor authentication such as a code sent by SMS-text, etc.
The result should be something like this:
If that did not succeed an alert message box will appear.
Next, click on the Save and Exit button.
Next, you instruct Shopkeeper to present the Podium payment option when accepting credit cards.
Open the payment types list by selecting Payment Types on the left which is a sub-choice of Payment Options.
Select one of the credit card options in the Select Payment Type column. (2)
Check the box Pop-Up Authorization ? ("Magnetic Swipe" in previous versions.)
Repeat this on all payment methods that should activate the integrated payment authorization option.
You should probably leave one credit card payment type with the Authorization Pop Up turned off in case you ever accept a credit card payment separate from Shopkeeper's integrated authorization approach. (Such as calling it in or using a virtual terminal in your web browser or by Paypal, etc.)
