DoDaddy Email Serviced by Microsoft 365

GoDaddy has stopped offering its own email service and now partners with Microsoft to provide email using Microsoft 365.

Jewelry Shopkeeper can send emails via regular SMTP if you enable SMTP Authentication on your email account. This works with all versions of Jewelry Shopkeeper since 2015.

Regular SMTP authentication is not enabled by default any more by Microsoft 365, which now strongly preferrs the "oAuth2" security method. oAuth2 for Microsoft 365 will be supported in Jewelry Shopkeeper after xx/2024

With regular SMTP authentication, the email settings in Jewelry Shopkeeper are

E-Mail Sending Method:        Direct dot-Net

E-Mail Server: smtpout.secureserver.net

E-Mail Login / UserID:  (your email address)

E-Mail Password:        (your email password)

Your E-Mail Address:  your email address, either the sending account or your usual incoming email address

Your "From" Name: Your store name typed in a normal, non-technical way

BCC Messages To: optional, but useful to monitor that messages really were sent: E.g. type in a dedicated bcc address (or Alias) of yours, or your regular email.

To enable SMTP authentication, sign in to your GoDaddy administration account.  (use your GoDaddy username and password, which is probably not the same as your actual email account and email password.)

From your account's Email & Office Dashboard

Select Manage next to the user.

Scroll down to Account information and select Advanced Settings.

Turn on the SMTP Authentication toggle.

Select Continue to confirm you want to enable SMTP Authentication for this user.
