Appraisals

These notes pertain to recording appraisals for customers’ own merchandise. I.e, you are not selling the merchandise, just the appraisal service.

1. Create a major class code for recording the sale of the appraisal service: (this is a one-time only step)

a. Choose [8,3,1] to Enter/Edit Major Class Codes

b. Pick a major code (e.g. perhaps 960) and a major code mnemonic (eg. perhaps APP)

c. Type in the description of the major code and make the Repair Category to number 3 for appraisals

d. Skip the remaining questions

e. The Jewelry Shopkeeper will create a dummy sku number for you. This will be the appraisal sku number you will re-use ever time you need to record a walk-in appraisal.

 

2.  Record the appraisal sale:

a. Create a sale for the customer

b. Type in the appraisal sku number

c. Type in the price for your appraisal service

d. Press Page Up to access the appraisal detail screen

e. Print the appraisal
