To record cash register paid-outs, choose Paid Out from the menu. Note that while posting cash register paid-outs helps you reconcile the cash-register, they do not appear as expenses on expense reports or profit & loss reports. If you often issue paid outs for expenses, you would have a better tracking mechanism if you one of the checkbooks that the Jewelry Shopkeeper tracks to act as a petty cash account. Then you can write petty cash checks to record each expense and to assign it an expense code. If you use this method, then you will still have paid outs, but you can consolidate them into one bigger paid-out which you would then post as a ‘miscellaneous transaction’ into the petty cash bank account.

DATE*} The current date will appear as the date the paid-out date. Change this date if necessary, but it is recommended that you leave it set to today’s date.
REFERENCE #*} Type the reference number or words for this paid-out, if any.
TYPE A BRIEF REFERENCE *} Type a very brief description of the paid-out.
ENTER THE AMOUNT OF THE PAID OUT*} Type the amount of cash paid out.
When the information has been entered, the following message will appear:
Do you want to Accept, Cancel, or Re-enter? <Esc>=Quit
Press <A> to accept your entries, <C> to cancel the paid-out, or <R> to re-type the data. After accepting or canceling, the menu will re-appear.
