Print the manufacturer code on the small ring/string tags?*} If you choose to print the style number on the small ring tags or the string tags from the tag printing menu, you can also print the manufacturer code as well if you choose Y for this option. Note that if you choose to include the manufacturer code, that will reduce the number of letters of the style number that will fit on the tag.

Maximum printed length of Mfg Style on the small ring/string tags?*} Here you can choose the maximum number of letters for both the manufacturer code and style number that will print on the small ring tags or the string tags. If you don’t include the manufacturer code then more letters of the style number will print. Note that if you choose a number that is too large, parts of the style will miss the tag.

Print the brand code on the large ring/small gift tags?*} If you choose to print the style number on the large ring tags or the small gift tags from the Tag Printing menu, you can also print the manufacturer code as well if you choose Y for this option. Note that if you choose to include the manufacturer code, that will reduce the number of letters of the style number that will fit on the tag.

Maximum printed length of style on the large ring/small gift tags?*} Here you can choose the maximum number of letters for both the manufacturer code and style number that will print on the large ring tags or the small gift tags. If you don’t include the manufacturer code then more letters of the style number will print. If you choose a number that is too large, parts of the style will miss the tag.

Use Kassoy for small gift tags instead of Arch Crown?*} Kassoy’s small gift tags have different dimensions than small gift tags from Arch Crown and you would have to set this option to Y to make the program format the information correctly for Kassoy small gift tags.

Number of Small gift tags across? (4,5,7,8,10)*} Small gift tags are available with four, five or seven tags across the width of the paper, so you need to make this option correspond to the type of small gift tags you have. (Five is the recommended size from Arch Crown).

The 8– and 10–across options are special cases for either the four or five across gift tags. Instead of using both sides of the tag for each inventory item, the 8– and 10–across options will NOT print the description of the item so each item only uses the left part of the tag, effectively giving you eight or ten tags across. This option is useful for watches or earrings.

Alternative for third description line? (D,C,W)*} Typically the description of the item prints on all three of the available lines on the right side of the tags. However, if you want to print some different information on the tag, you can instruct the program to only print the first two lines of the description. In the third line, you can then choose either the Date code, the Cost code or the Weight, by typing D, C, or W. Leave this option blank to print the entire inventory description as usual.

The Date code option will print the date the item was received using the Price-code mnemonic entered into Store Information Defaults with the month, day and year separated by periods.

The Cost-code option will print the cost of the item encoded using the cost-code mnemonic entered into Store Information Defaults. Note that you can also choose to print the cost-code on the left side of the tag in place of the item’s style number. However, if you want both the style number and the cost-code, you can print the style number on the left part of the tag and the cost code in place of the third description line on the right part of the tag.

The weight option is only useful for items which are bought or sold by weight and where there is only one item in that SKU number, such as a parcel consisting of a single stone. For other items this option may print a meaningless weight.

For thermal tags use Zebra or Barcode Blazer? (Z,B)*} At this time, the Jewelry Shopkeeper supports two types of thermal transfer printers for printing barcodes. To print thermal transfer tags, you have to choose the Thermal option from the tag printing menu, but this option lets you tell the program which type of thermal transfer printer you have.

For Zebra tags, use the Large or Small letters?,  Resolution DPMM*} The Zebra thermal transfer can use two types of fonts on the tag. The large letters are easier to read, but the small letters are smoother. Try both to see which one you prefer.

The resolution for the supported Zebra model Z–95 is six dots per millimeter (6 DPMM). However, the Zebra model Z–105 is not officially supported by the program but may work if you choose 8 DPMM.

Large Ring Tag and Small Gift Tag Description Format*} On the right side of the tags, the program breaks the items’ description into three parts. Usually the program will break down the description into the first nine letters, the second nine letters and the remaining seven letters. If you have specifically entered the description into the program in a way that requires that the description be broken down another way, you can enter the formula with this choice.

This option allows you to change the format for the large ring tags and the small gift tags (which have the same size print area).

a sample description is 18K ANN BAND 1.2CTW VVS1. Letter number 10 is the A in BAND. Nine letters starting at letter number 10 would be AND 1.2CT

Small Ring Tag and String Tag Description Format*} This option allows you to change the description format in the same way as described above, but this option is for the small ring tags and the string tags (which have the same size print area).
