When a program screen appears, information will display on the screen to tell you what to enter.

Highlighted boxes             will appear on the screen. These boxes are called fields. The words to the left of the cursor tell you what information you should enter, for example:

The words COMPANY NAME tell you to type in the name of your company. When you type, the data will appear in the highlighted box. The field can be one character long or several characters long. The size of the box shows you how many characters you can enter.

The flashing cursor always appears on the field where entry is currently taking place. When the information has been typed in, press <Enter> to move the cursor to the next entry field. The cursor will move only to those fields where entry is allowed.

With some entries, only one character is required. When you press the key to enter the character, the cursor will automatically move to the next field, and you will not have to press <Enter>.

To exit a program screen, you can press <Enter> repeatedly to move the cursor through all the fields on the screen. When the cursor has gone through all the fields, the screen will disappear and the menu or another program screen will appear. With certain programs, you can also press <Esc> to exit, but pressing <Esc> usually means you want to exit that screen without saving any changes you may have just typed in.
