Inventory & Picture Exporting

A new export option allows you to export lists of inventory along with

the pictures and the picture names. This can be extremely useful as it

can allow you to create catalog sheets and greatly simplify the

addition of your inventory to your web site. The export can be done from

two parts of the program: The inventory report screen where you can

export large sections of your inventory in bulk or from the tag printing

screen where you can select a list of individual sku numbers.

To export in bulk  choose the Inventory Report screen (6,5), select

your criteria (major code, etc) and change the output option from

"Display" to "Image List"

To export by individual Sku numbers choose Print Inventory Tags then

change the output option from "Thermal" to "Image List."

In both cases the export list is called PICTLIST.XLS and is located in

the JSREPORT folder on the Windows desktop. This file contains the

inventory details and contains links to the pictures. Another copy is in

the INV folder inside the JSREPORT folder.

You should open that file (usually in Excel) to see the list of items

& pictures that were located.

If, when creating the Image List, you choose to create a copy of the

selected pictures those pictures will be put in the IMAGES folder which

is in the INV folder inside the JSREPORT folder.

Having this separate and isolated copy of the pictures may be useful if

your webmaster intends to upload the export to a website.

Version 9.7 includes some sample MS Word picture-merge templates to

create index cards and catalog sheets based on the PICTLIST.XLS export

file. These MS-Word templates are in the complink.js folder called

In MS-Word retrieve the template document open the "Mail Merge Helper"

(Tools, Mail Merge) and refresh the Data Source to PICTLIST.XLS. You

specify the data source by selecting "Get Data" then "Open Data Source",

then select Desktop" then select the JSREPORT folder and then select

To run the mail merge select Tools, Mail Merge, Merge - selecting

Merge To a New Document

When you get a new document you have to refresh it by pressing Ctrl-A

(to select all) and then press the F9 key.

For exporting to HTML the 1 column layout is better formatted.

(In Word choose save as web/html to save in HTML format)

Don't save over the provided Word templates.

The Pix1Col document yields a 1-column catalog sheet.

The Pix3Col document yields a 3-column catalog sheet.

The Pix5160 yields a 3 column by 10 row sheet that is formatted

for mailing labels (but you can print to plain paper)

The Pix5385 document gives index card formatted output for

Avery 5385 index cards
